NYIHA MEDIA is pleased to have 2 of its writers selected for the first Technology & New Media Institute of the National Black Programming Consortium with support from Corporation for Public Broadcasting and WGBH, Theresa Thanjan and Dr. Steeve Coupeau. As a participant in the first Technology & New Media Institute, Dr. Steeve Coupeau co-produced the Afro-Galactic Postcards. Four Boston-based Human Rights groups organized a screening of a Documentary by Dr. Steeve Coupeau on November 8, 2006 including Encuentro Diaspora Afro, Matahari: Eye of the Day, Rosa Parks Human Rights Day Committee, and Red de Mujeres Afro. On August 27, 2006, NYIHA MEDIA in collaboration with C.T.M. Cine Teatro Musica and Teatro Estudio Internacional, Primer Teatro Dominicano in New York Presented A Night of Cinema, T heater and Music at the Times Square Arts Center located at 300 West 43rd Street. We delivered film screenings, theater performance by Dominican performer Lina Beltre and Dominican singer Arelis Figueroa. Dr. Coupeau curated an exhibit of photos by documentary photographer Ingrid Guyon and moderated the Q & A after the film screenings.
